QWO

COLLAGENASE CLOSTRIDIUM HYSTOLYTICUM-AAES

The first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite is now available!

FAQ

WHAT IS QWO?

A primary contributing factor in the formation of cellulite is fibrous septae. The septae make up the fibrous connective tissue that connects the skin to the underlying muscle fascia, and when it tightens irregularly, it draws the skin downward, causing the normal layer of fat beneath to push the skin up. This results in the “dimpling” of the skin. QWO targets types 1 and 3 collagen, releasing the fibrous septae enzymatically, which is what can smooth the skin and diminish the appearance of cellulite. The treatment involves a combination of two natural-occurring enzymes, AUX-I and AUX-II, which is injected into the skin under the dimple and breaks down the collagen build-up that causes cellulite. As it releases the fibrous bands, the tension that pushes the surrounding fat upward is reduced, effectively diminishing the appearance of cellulite.

HOW MANY QWO TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

In clinical trials patients treatments included 3 sessions scheduled 3 weeks or 21 days apart.

POSSIBLE SIDE-EFFECTS OF QWO?

The most common side effect was bruising. Followed by tenderness, redness and swelling, and possibly some hardness in the treatment area.

HOW MUCH TIME IS NEEDED FOR QWO TREATMENT?

The procedure takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Allow for 1 hour for consultation, preparation and treatment.

OTHER TREATMENTS FOR CELLULITE?

Because cellulite is multifactorial, other treatment modalities are often needed to treat cellulite. QWO may be one of several treatments (i.e. MORPHEUS8 BODYSCULPTRA, KYBELLA) needed to comprehensively treat your cellulite for the best possible results! To see if you may be a good candidate for non-surgical cellulite treatments a consultation is recommended.
